WILD Story Walks – Mariposa the Monarch

June 1 - June 30

Story Walks are an exciting literacy and movement-boosting project designed to encourage young learners to play outside. At The Preserve, our Story Walks are for everyone, providing a fun and educational experience for all ages. Each sign along the trail has a front and back, featuring a page from a storybook and a choice of WILD challenges to complete before you move on to the next sign.

Our current Story Walk features the enchanting tale of Mariposa the Monarch and her incredible journey of migration. As you follow Mariposa’s story, you’ll learn about the challenges she faces and the beauty she encounters on her epic voyage. The WILD challenges are designed to engage your imagination and get you moving, from mimicking the fluttering flight of a butterfly to searching for specific plants and insects in the environment. This story will be available at The Preserve through the month of June, stop by during our seasonal hours to enjoy the experience.

Not only do Story Walks encourage reading and physical activity, but they also foster a deeper connection to nature and the environment. By combining storytelling with outdoor exploration, we aim to create memorable experiences that inspire a love for books and an appreciation for wildlife.

Visit The Preserve to embark on this unique adventure, learn about Mariposa’s fascinating life, and complete fun challenges along the way. Our Story Walks are a perfect outing for families, school groups, and anyone looking to enjoy a day in nature while nurturing a passion for reading and discovery.
