Commune with nature
Recreational features at the Preserve include foot-travel trails, an aerial observation deck, bird blinds & feeding sites, outdoor education platforms, a butterfly garden & meadow, and insectarium.
EDUCATION & RECREATION
The preserve is a wild space that supports ambitious learning programs and encourages personal wellness pursuits. To us, the meaningful act of connecting with nature fosters a sense of place and balances a healthy lifestyle.
AERIAL OBSERVATION DECK
Perched above the forest canopy in the quiet northeast corner of the preserve – standing over two-stories tall – the observation platform allows visitors to experience the unobstructed expanse of the playa. This southerly vista opens up to reveal a birds-eye-view of the wildlife below and is a favorite roost for bird watchers and landscape photographers alike.
The preserve is used year-round by the community as a highly sought-after outdoor recreation destination. Timeworn and often narrow hiking trails create a sense of intimacy with the natural surroundings, and wooden boardwalks allow for safe passage over protected floodplains or wetland areas. Peaceful mornings greet enthusiastic bird and butterfly watchers, and afternoon trail running and walking are everyday wellness activities around the playa.
